Ethno-Cultural Tour
For locals in rural Kyrgyzstan, the yurt is their first home – as simple as it is. Yurt homestays in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan were not created as a product for tourists – they became popular precisely because of the authentic lifestyle they represent. Old Soviet-style small houses side-by-side on village streets with real nomads’ yurts; and all of it overlooking the beautiful shores of lake Issyk-Kol. This is an excellent place to experience authentic culture, and to live a day in the life of these Kyrgyz nomads.
Our “Village of Real Nomads” tour includes interaction with locals’ daily life; participation in building yurts, cooking local food, the felt making process, and eagle hunting demonstrations. If you’re lucky enough to time your visit to coincide with a local festival, you’ll also have the chance to enjoy watching local dancers, singers, hunters, and other performers.
